Website forecast
Hello all, we see at the stats that quiet some people using the Baja Weather website to check on the forecast. Yet, we received some emails complaining about the information displayed is not correct. We apologize for that but we have no influence on that all! The weather conditions are submitted to the system we get our feeds from by many weather stations - in USA / CAN there are many more weather stations by number of course as down the Baja in Mexico. For example the only station we are aware of in La Paz is at the airport. The data we can retrieve is therefore based on the output of that station. If for example there is a different wind and temperature in Pichilingue it will most likely not reflect at the forecast.
In regards to the forecast for this website: as most visitors know by now is the Baja Weather website now also part of the Baja Infotheque Network. This network of 60 plus Baja California websites is now in the process of being “streamlined” to make it more efficient to operate. (”Streamlined” = make all procedures to operate the websites of the Baja Infotheque Network simple and synchronized.
The former operator did planned another weather scropt to work for this website and we will continue this vision and have to the begin of the hurricane season the HAMweather weather forecasting software installed and in this website embedded. The HAMweather comes with a plug-in that allows HW3 to parse and display the various tropical reports and maps for the Pacific areas. That way we will be able to display updated maps and satellite images with the current position of storms and severe weather conditions.
Baja Weather will remain a free service - we are sponsored for this website by Eco y Eco Solar - and want to provide the best service available under the conditions given. Please keep in mind: software cost money, installing and configuring software cost time, time=money, operating a website, server etc. cost time and money. All of this is free and we cover the cost on software from our pocket yet at times the time-window to complete a project is larger and we do as we can.
