Low chance to become a tropical cyclone

Date September 13, 2009

A large area of disturbed weather has developed several hundred miles south-southwest of the southwestern coast of Mexico. Environmental conditions appear favorable for some slow development of this system as it moves very little over the next day or two. There is a low chance – less than 30 percent – of this system becoming a tropical cyclone during the next 48 hours.
