Tropical Storm Enrique and Tropical Depression Eight-E - Tropical Storm Enrique has formed in the Pacific, becoming the fifth named storm of the eastern north Pacific hurricane season. Also, a new tropical depression formed farther west in the Pacific. The National Hurricane Center says Tropical Storm Enrique has maximum sustained winds near 40 mph and is expected to strengthen. Enrique is centered about 715 miles south-southwest of the southern tip of Mexico's Baja California peninsula and is moving west-northwest near 14 mph.
Meanwhile the tropical depression has maximum sustained winds near 35 mph and is expected to strengthen to a tropical storm. The depression is centered about 1,135 miles southwest of Baja California.
