Tropical storm Gilma just below hurricane strength

At 800 am PDT/1500 UTC the center of Tropical Storm Gilma was located near latitude 16.0 north/longitude 117.1 west.
About 670 mi/1075 km SW of the southern tip of Baja California.
Gilma is moving toward the west-northwest near 13 mph/20 km/h. A turn toward the northwest and a decrease in forward speed are expected during the next couple of days.
Maximum sustained winds are near 70 mph/110 km/h with higher gusts.
Some strengthening is possible today and tonight and Gilma could become a hurricane later today.
Weakening is expected on Friday.
Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 80 miles...130 km from the center.
