Tropical Storm Marty

Tropical Storm Marty - thirteenth tropical storm of the 2009 eastern North Pacific hurricane season forms. At 800 am PDT/1500 UTC the center of Tropical Storm Marty was located near latitude 18.9 north-longitude 112.4 west or about 320 miles/515 km south-southwest of the southern tip of Baja California. Marty is moving toward the northwest near 3 mph/6 km/hr and this general motion is expected to continue during the next couple of days. Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 40 mph/65 km/hr with higher gusts. Some additional strengthening is forecast during the next day or so. Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 50 miles/85 km from the center.
